Chips For Charity- Prince Harry's Charity In The Spotlight

Prince Harry

On Saturday 18 August at 18:00 at the Grand Del Mar in San Diego, there will be a charity poker tournament that although will be taking place thousands of miles away, is actually quite close to home in some respects.

The Chips For Charity tournament will be raising funds for the charity Sentebale, which so happens to be the charity founded by Prince Seeiso of the Lesotho Royal Family and our very own His Royal Highness Prince Harry.

Tickets to the tournament cost $524.95 on the dedicated website and for the money players not only get to help a fantastic charity but get to play in the Chips For Charity tournament, get to sample all-inclusive hosted hors d'oeuvres and drinks and every entrant receives a "swag bag full of goodies." Observer tickets are also available for the cut-price of $106.49 and for this sum ticket holders are offered the same benefits as those opting to play in the tournament minus the seat to the charity event.

Prizes on offer include quality timepieces from Prime Time Fine Jewellery & Watches, whilst the eventual champion will walk away with a week-long vacation at Villa del Palmar Loreto.

A number of celebrities are listed to play including the recent Big One For One Drop champion Antonio Esfandiari, 2011 Playmate of the Year Brande Roderick and MLB's Kurt Bevacqua and Bret Boone. It should be a superb spectacle and one that should be heavily supported. Even if you cannot be there it is possible to make a donation to the charity via their dedicated pages. Unfortunately it appears neither Princes will be taking part; we would have loved to have seen Prince Harry at the felt!

The Sentebale charity was founded in 2006 by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso and means "Forget me not." Its mission is to transform the lives of orphans and vulnerable children and symbolises The Princes work and that of their late mother's.
