The 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event is well and truly in the money places after the 720 players who started the day with high hopes were reduced to just 282 over the course of five 120-minute levels. Amongst those 282 players are 12 of our boys who are on course to go all the way in poker's biggest tournament.
Officially out best placed player is Niall Farrell from Lugar Agrshin who will start Day 6 with 829,000 chips; good enough to place him 87th. If we want to go all unofficial then we will continue to adopt Nick Abou Risk who is in 36th place with 1,287,000 chips – he is residing in Dublin after all!
Our surviving players are chipped up as follows:
|36||Nick Abou Risk||1,287,000|
The man they all have to catch is Paul Volpe who bagged up 2,750,000 chips when the tournament director called time on proceedings whilst Erik Hellman (2,216,000), Dave D'Alesandro (2,093,000), Kyle Bowker (2,081,000), Erich Buchman (2,076,000) and Elisabeth Hille (2,014,000) all ended the day with over 2,000,000 chips.
Other notables still in the field include Leo Wolpert (1,835,000), Vanessa Selbst (1,678,000), Erik Cajelais (1,600,000), Andrew Lichtenberger (1,150,000) and a whole host of other extremely talented players besides.
