The International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) is set to run its first-ever tournament in 2013 when it heads to Wembley Stadium, London, for a €20,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. The ISPT are hoping to attract massive crowd of 30,000 players, amongst them will be their new ambassador Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi.
It was Mizrachi who first broke the news, doing so to his 35,700 Twitter followers but now the man known as “The Grinder” now has his own dedicated page on the ISPT website.
I just want to announce I will be @ispt_poker official ambassador. Will be one of the Biggest tournaments ever held May 31, 2013!Follow @TheGrinder44
Mizrachi is one of the most recognisable faces in the game thanks in part to him winning three World Series of Poker bracelets; twice winning the $50,000 Poker Players Championship and the other at the the 2011 WSOP Europe in Cannes. Mizrachi also has two World Poker Tour titles to his name and over $14,000,000 in live tournament winnings.
Adding a pro like Mizrachi to the ISPT adds extra credibility to the ambitious project, which is so ambitious that a large section of the poker community do not believe it will get off the ground. However, PokerNews have been informed that the ground-breaking event is definitely taking place and the €20 million prize pool is guaranteed. Watch this space!
