Matthew Simpson Wins The Latest DTD 150 Deepstack

Dusk Till Dawn

This weekend saw the latest edition of the £150 Deepstack take place at the Dusk Till Dawn poker cub in Nottingham where 143 players turned out. These 143 players were outlasted by Matthew Simpson, who walked away with £10,350.00 for his efforts.

Those of you with solid mental arithmetic skills will have figured out that 143 runners meant quite an overlay for the club, especially since this week's tournament was played to a freezeout format and not the usual re-entry. But the DTD being the DTD they stumped up the additional £8,550 to ensure the £30,000 guarantee was met.

Whilst the club was obviously disappointed about the overlay the players certainly were not as it meant extra value for each and every one of them, though maybe Louise Cole will think differently as she was the unfortunate soul who burst the bubble and paved the way for the 14 surviving players to pick up at least £300 in prize money.

One by one the players fell by the wayside until only Simpson and Peter Meldrum had chips in front of them; though it was not too long before Simpson was the sole survivor and therefore winner of the latest £150 Deepstack. Congratulations.

This week there are £15 buy-in £2,500 guaranteed tournaments tonight and Tuesday at 20:00, Wednesday and Thursday feature a £30 £5,000 guaranteed whilst Friday is a Super 50 Turbo event with a £10,000 guaranteed prize pool. But the one everyone has been waiting for is the £100 buy-in Grand Prix.

Running over nine days, the Super Sized Grand Prix is a £100 buy-in event that has a huge €200,000 guaranteed prize pool! There are five starting flights to choose from and the tournament will be played to a re-entry format so if you bust out on one of the earlier days you can jump right back in if registration is still open or if not, on the following day. It should be a fantastic event and someone will walk away with a massive first place prize, that is for certain.
