Maksims Uskovs Takes Down July's Fox Poker Club Main Event

Maksims Uskovs

The Fox Poker Club hosted the July edition of the popular Fox Poker Club Main Event, a £300 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event that is regarded as one of the best mid-stakes tournaments available in London. This particular tournament attracted a bumper crowd of 173 runners, who created a prize pool of £51,900.

These 173 players were whittled down to the nine handed final table by 23:00 on Sunday, a final table that lined up as follows:

1Stanmir Milev508,000
2Niel McCulloch536,000
3Marco Vasconcelos317,000
4Dak Mia Liu295,000
5Nick Jenkins442,000
6Maksims Uskovs676,000
7James Koumis393,000
8Kenny Wong450,000
9David McDonagh220,000

Due to the final table being streamed by the Fox Poker Club there were no live updates on their blog so all we could find out was that by the time the clock's read the unholy hour of 02:50 there were only four players remaining and these four players decided to flatten the payout structure somewhat, and who can blame them at that time on a morning.

The final hand took place just after 04:30 and it was Maksims Uskovs who became the champion. Uskovs got his money in with pocket aces and looked set to double up Stanmir Milev who held top two pair but the board paired on the river to counterfeit Milev's hand and leave Uskovs to win the hand and the tournament.
