The long running Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is currently in Bolton for the eighth leg of this year's tour. With a total of nine events on offer, including the £550 No Limit Hold'em Six-max Main Event, there should be something for everyone in Lancashire.
Yesterday saw the Bolton leg kick off with a £50+£5 No Limit Hold'em Freezeout with tonight being a £110 version of the previous night's antics. Wednesday sees the focus shift to four cards with a Pot Limit Omaha event but the one tournament everyone has their eye on is the £500+£50 buy-in Main Event.
Six-max poker is extremely popular in online circles but British casinos rarely spread it, for a number of reasons, so you should head down to the Grosvenor G Casino on Ormrod Street on Friday 20 July to take part in this rare event! If you do decide to play you will sit down with 20,000 chips and play to a 60-minute clock that gives plenty of room to actually play some poker.
As an added bonus, players are permitted to re-enter once per day, at the full registration fee, up to the first six levels of the Main Event and its side events, with no penalty incurred. This should not only appeal to those making the journey up, or down, the M62 but should also see the prize pool swell.
In addition to the Main Event and side events shown in the table below, there are a number of satellite events taking place within the casino that feed into Friday's Main Event. Please check with the casino staff on 01204 375820 for full details of those satellites.
