The Northern Poker Open Main Event took place at the Fairways Hotel in Dundalk, Northern Ireland over the weekend and attracted a bumper crowd who were prepared to pay the €215+€35 buy-in Main Event.
By the time registration had closed up shop for the day, the official attendance count stood at an impressive 247 runners. This large field created a prize pool of €53,105 that was shared out amongst the top 27 finishers although a deal was done on the bubble that saw the 28th place finisher – Alan Truick – walk away with €250.
The 247 starters were whittle down to the nine-handed final table on Sunday evening and they lined up as follows:
There were no live updates available although over on the Irish Poker Boards the members were kept up to day with the eliminations as they happened. When play reached four-handed a deal was struck for the remaining prize pool, with a further deal happening between the two heads-up players; Christina Cullen and Dimitri Pembrooke. Cullen ran out the eventual winner and along with her prize money picked up a commemorative trophy as you can see in the attached image.
Judging by the feel of the thread on the Irish Poker Boards, everyone who took part in the Northern Poker Open thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it sounds like it was a fantastic event. Congratulations to everyone involved.
