Another week, another few thousand online poker tournaments grinded out, for some of the top 10 ranked UK & Ireland tournament poker players at least.
Every single player who made it into last week's top 10 standings lost points in the Sliding PLB rankings (from PocketFives) this week, most due to being in Las Vegas and not playing any online poker and some for just not hitting enough big score to counteract their older scores now becoming obsolete.
Despite the relevant lack of volume from the majority of the high flyers there was some movement in the rankings. Billy "BillyChat" Chattaway moved up a couple of spots to fourth whilst Jack "jackellwood" Ellwood dropped from eighth to 11th, whcih means we have a newcomer in the Top 10 for the first time since we started this little feature and it is another first because cracking the Top 10 for is our first Irishman!
Daniel "danloulou" Smith was ever-so-close to making into our Top 10 last week and now he has made it! Although none of last week's score actually earned him any points towards his total, his results in recent weeks seem to have pushed him through the necessary points threshold.
On May 28 he finished third in the $500 buy-in $40,000 guaranteed High Roller Monday on iPoker for a cool $5,880.00 and the week before that he won the $215 No Limit Hold'em Turbo for a bankroll-boosting $9,245.00. In total the former Sunday Million winner has life time winnings of more than $1,910,000 from online poker tournaments.
