Jono "GAWA9" Crute Breaks Into Top 10 In UK & Ireland Poker Rankings

Jono Crute (sporting the hat)

As you would expect with the majority of the big, high stakes grinders being busy plying their trade in Las Vegas at the World Series of Poker, there has been little change in the online poker rankings. In fact the vast majority of the top 10 are the same but there is a newcomer.

Chris “NigDawG” Brammer is still the man out in front, which when you consider he has not played anything online for an absolute age is no mean feat at all. Hot on his heels is the Scottish pro RLOG; we have spoken to Mr RLOG this wee and we will be uploading that article soon, whilst Mathew “matfrankland” Frankland is still in third place.

Billy “BillyChat” Chattaway and Kevin “scareface2911” Howe have swapped places with each other in fifth and sixth place respectively whilst Andy “Bonified” Ward has dropped out of the top 10 after it became apparent PocketFives had somehow counted his monster $216,918 win from May's PartyPoker PokerFest Main Event twice. Ward's exit means there is an extra space in this week's top 10 rankings and that space has been filled by Irishman Jono “EMSGAWA9” Crute.

Crute has flown up the rankings and is now the top ranked tournament player in Ireland. He reached these lofty heights with the help of an outright win in the PartyPoker $15,000 guaranteed for a score of $5,197 and a runner-up finish in the PartyPoker $20,000 Speed tournament for an additional $4,016. But it is not just his most recent form that has been superb as his past results are testament to.

One of Crute's favourite tournaments is The Big $109 on PokerStars, a tournament he has won twice and finished second in this year alone! In his career so far Crute has one over $1,220,000 in online tournament winnings and if he keeps up his current form it surely will not be long before the $1,500,000 then $2,000,000 winnings barrier has been broken through.
