Although the 2012 World Series of Poker is in full swing over in Las Vegas it is business as usual back here in Blighty where the highlight of the weekend's live poker action once again takes place at the Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham.
Kicking off proceedings is the £150 Deepstack event that gets underway at precisely 19:00 this evening; though players can take advantage of late registration until 22:50 if they so wish. For their £150 players will be given 30,000 chips and will play to a superb blind structure that increases every 40-minutes. Oh, and let us not forget the prize pool is guaranteed to be at least £40,000.
Day 1b kicks off at 14:30 on Saturday with late registration open until 18:20. Both Day 1a and Day 1b are played to a re-entry format meaning players are permitted one re-entry if they bust out; as long as they re-enter before registration closes on the day they played or they do so on the following day.
The last time this tournament run – at the end of May – 343 players exchanged £150 for the chance to become the 150 Deepstack champion and that meant there was an overlay of £4,000 to the club. The eventual winner was Waheed Ashraf who defeated Mohammed Shoahebe heads-up to take home the first place prize of £14,867.94.
Also taking place this weekend, on the Saturday, is the Blonde Bash so expect plenty of members from the Blonde Poker forums to be on the premises. Then on Sunday there is the Super 50, a £50 buy-in tournament that carries a guaranteed prize pool of £7,500. The Super 50 starts at 15:00 on Sunday 10 June and late registration is open until 18:15.
Good luck to everyone taking part in the DTD events this weekend. Be sure to check into UK & Ireland PokerNews after the weekend for a recap of the action from the Nottingham-based club.
