This weekend saw the One Way Poker crew head to Bristol for its latest £15,000 guaranteed Deepstack event; and what a great event it was. By the time registration had come to an end there were 168 players had paid £150+£15, creating a prize pool of £25,200 that was to be shared out amongst the top 20 finishers.
The 10-handed final table was set on Sunday when Ainis Radauskas busted out in 11th place and whilst he left to go pick up £300 the surviving players lined up as follows:
One by one the final table members busted out. Peter Shing becoming the first casualty and over the next few hours he was joined on the sidelines by Jeremy Elliot, Jamie Follett, Marcell Gottshalk, Shaun Harper, Andy Morse, Joe Bletso and Ralph Silva. These exits left John Strich and Craig Goddard to fight it out for the title and the £7,600 first place prize.
From what we gather it seems like Goddard was in control of the heads-up battle but the cards were just not falling his way at all. He messaged us on Twitter and informed us he lost three all-ins including one where he was an almost lock on the flop but Strich caught runner-runner aces to win.
Goddard somehow kept his cool and his composure and eventually ran out as the winner in the Gala Harbourside in Bristol.
