Sunday marked the first of six starting days in the €100,000 guaranteed Grand Prix at the Dusk Till Dawn club in Nottingham and it attracted a massive crowd. Although the venue has a capacity of 405 players for each flight by the time registration drew to a close there were a total of 534 entrants thanks to players being allowed to re-enter during the first nine levels. At the end of 15 levels just 88 of them had chips to bag and tag and they will return to their seats on Saturday for Day 2 of this huge event.
Five players managed to turn their 15,000 starting stacks into more than 200,000 chips by the time play came to an end, Paul Rider being the overnight chip leader with a monster stack of 242,700. Hot on Riders heels are Jehan Zaib, Jimmi Lee, Mohamed Dagia and Daniel Ward but there are a whole host of players over 150,000 chips.
The rest of the Day 1s take place during this week and all start at 17:00 which means they should come to an end at around 01:45 the following morning. Friday looks like it will sell out before it passes around so we would advice calling the club in advance before you make the journey to Europe's premier poker club for this fantastic €60 buy-in event.
