Group A of the PartyPoker Premier League V was completed over the weekend and it was the online qualifier Mathew Frankland who took down the final match, netting himself another $32,000 in prize money and 16 vital points. Thanks to this second victory Frankland progresses to the final table where he will start with 400,000 chips.

Frankland has played phenomenally over the past few days and thoroughly deserves his place on the eight-handed final table. He finished third in the first match, a disappointing eighth in the second but back-to-back wins have seen him progress and he now has a realistic shot at the $500,000 first place prize.

Joining Frankland in the finale are his fellow Brit, the super talented Sam Trickett and PokerNews' PartyPoker sponsored pro Tony G. The latter owes Frankland a drink as Frankland's win knocked the WPT Player of the Year Andy Frankenberger down the pecking order and boosted Tony G to an automatic qualification berth.

Frankenberger now takes on Phil "The Unabomber" Laak in a series of heads-up matches to determine who will join Frankland, Trickett and Tony G from Group A.

Group B is still playing, in fact is it underway as this article is being written and is still wide open. Ben Wilinofsky and Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Vanessa Selbst will not be progressing but we should be seeing the likes of Scott Seiver, Yengeniy Timoshenko and Patrik Antonius making it through.
