Jude Ainsworth Wins Super Tuesday for $86k

Jude Ainsworth

One of the most eagerly anticipated tournaments on the online calendar is the weekly $1,050 buy-in Super Tuesday event that runs each and every Tuesday, believe it or not, on the world's largest poker site PokerStars. Every week it attracts some of the biggest names in the business and thanks to the long late registration period often sees close to 500 runners participating.

This week's Super Tuesday was slightly smaller in size due to many of the potential entrants playing in the European Poker Tour Berlin main event but it still attracted a field of 441 and had a prize pool of $441,000. One man who is a regular in this event is the Irish Team PokerStars Pro Jude Ainsworth, the Galway man being an absolute beast online as those who play with him will attest to.

Ainsworth had entered and busted out of the EPT Berlin main event so did what every top class pro would do and jump straight back onto the horse and enter the Super Tuesday from his hotel room! It turned out to be a fantastic decision by Ainsworth because at around 08:45 on Wednesday morning he had won each and every one of the 2,205,000 chips in play and was awarded the $84,627.90 winner's prize. We were alerted to Ainsworth's win, like many media outlets are, by the medium of Twitter. Ainworth wrote:

Amazingly this is not Ainsworth's largest cash, nor his second, third or fourth! This massive score is Ainsworth's fifth largest cash on PokerStars, the largest being a staggering $963,338 back in April 2009, and we are certain it will not be the last huge cash haul for the popular pro.
