Viktor Blom Takes On Isaac Haxton in $1 Million Winner-Take-All Match Tonight!

Poker players often overuse the word "epic" but tonight that word should be the only one used for the eagerly anticipated Viktor Blom versus Isaac Haxton $1,000,000 winner-takes-all SuperStar Showdown.

Two of the most feared yet respected high stakes cash game players will sit down later today at four $200/$400 No Limit Hold'em heads-up tables with $500,000 spread across them and the duo will continue to play until the other has lost half a million dollars!

Tonight's match is scheduled to last four hours but if neither player has won their opponents stacks they will sit down again on Sunday, then Monday and so on and so forth --until one player is down $500,000!

The pair have clashed on numerous occasions in the past couple of years in the cash games on PokerStars and they have even played each other twice in the "normal" SuperStar Showdown where players challenge Blom, playing under the alias Isildur1, to 2,500 hands of $50/$100 No Limit Hold'em or Pot Limit Omaha and on both occasions Haxton has won. He took down the first match-up by beating Blom out of $41,701 in the first-ever SuperStar Showdown and a couple of weeks ago Haxton won again but for just $5,093 over 2,500 hands.

Personally I think Haxton will take this one down too and it could be much more one sided than you think. If the game was to be played until the death then I believe Blom would have an advantage but I get the impression over a four-hour period Haxton will be more disciplined and will have more structure and an actual game plan, something that Blom certainly will not have. Plus Haxton can make sick moves on the river like in this famous video against Ryan Daut!

You can watch the battle over on PokerStars from 18:00GMT and we will have a full recap of the action for you once the dust has settled.
