The PokerStars sponsored Estrellas Poker Tour Valencia kicked off yesterday and a total of 176 players decided to buy into the first of two starting days. Each and every one of them had high hopes of reaching Sunday's final table to be played in the Casino Cirsa de Valencia.
By the time play came to a close only 84 players remained and they were lead by the Dutchman Richard van Schendel who ended the day with a stack of chips worth 85,800 when the average stack in play was 31,428. His nearest rival, in terms of chips, was Spain's Manuel Jumenez who qualified for this event on PokerStars. He goes into Day 2 armed with 80,900 chips.
These two players will be joined by the 84 other survivors from Day 1a and whoever manages to make it through from Day 1b, which is expected to be a complete sell out with at least 200 players! Some faces to look out for on Day 2 include Team PokerStars Pro Juan Manuel Pastor, Luis Rufas and the SuperNova Elite Javier "MuckedBoy" Tazón.
