Yesterday marked the start of the London leg of the Genting Poker Series at the Fox Poker Club in the heart of the English capital. By the time registration was closed the club was packed to the rafters as 141 players exchanged £430 for 25,000 tournament chips and a superb deepstack structure.
By the time play came to an end, after 11, 60-minute levels, only 37 of them had survived with David Lloyd being the best placed of them with a very healthy stack of 282,600 chips. LLoyd was one of only three players to finish with more than 200,000 chips, the other tow being Timothy Chung (227,500) and one half of the Boatman brothers Ross (217,500). Ross' brother Barny made it through to Saturday's Day 2 but with a less substantial stack of 33,500.
Today is Day 1b, which kicks off at 13:00, and if yesterday is anything to go by then we would urge you to buy-in as soon as possible because seats are being sold like proverbial hot cakes and it could be a sell out. Each Genting Poker Series has a £100,000 guarantee on it and we will quite literally eat out hat if that is not completely smashed by the time tomorrow's Day 1c has closed its doors.
You can follow the live updates for the second day's play over on the Genting Poker Series' dedicated page or check out the Fox Poker Club's site for some coverage and news.
