The supersized Dusk Till Dawn 500 Deepstack £250,000 guaranteed kicked off yesterday afternoon and by the time registration had closed for the day 143 players had exchanged £560 for 30,000 tournament chips and the shot of an estimated first place prize of £75,000. Just 43 players made it through to Sunday's Day 2.
The man who everyone has to catch at the moment is Matthew Moss who bagged up an incredible 243,600 chips by the time the curtain came down on proceedings but he is being hunted down by the likes of the in-form Thomas Middleton (234,900), James "Epitomised" Atkin (212,300) and Mark "MX-5" Mccluskey (154,700).
As you would expect when so much money is up for grabs some of the UK's most familiar faces were in attendance but the following players will have to re-enter today if they are to make it into the money and beyond because they busted out during Day 1a. Players like Nick Slade, Julian Thew, Sam Trickett, Ben Vinson, Jack Ellwood and Richard "ChipRich20" Hare all came and went, most if not all will be back in action today.
Day 1b kicks off at 12:00 with late registration open until 21:40 tonight. At time of writing there are 123 players registered including last month's winner Nicholas Crisp.
Before we go we have a "what would you do" question that has cropped up on Main Event Travel sponsored pro Sam Macdonald's Facebook. Early this morning Macdonald updated his Facebook status with the following:
"If you wake up in your hotel room in Nottingham and there is a random girl you have never met in the other bed, should your first step be hotel security or the police? Just to confirm, I have not consumed any alcohol in the last 48 hours," before adding, "Bit worried she's asleep and appears to have brought a suitcase!!"
So what would you do?
