One of the best tournaments not only in the United Kingdom but throughout Europe kicks off at 12:00 on Friday 16 December, the fantastic Dusk Till Dawn Monte Carlo Main Event.
The £1,000 +£90 buy-in event carries a massive £250,000 guarantee and like in previous months is going to be played in a re-entry format. This means that anyone who enters Day 1a and does not make it through the day can re-enter on Day 1b with no penalties, except being £1,090 out of pocket that is!
The last Monte Carlo Main Event, who's blind structure is modelled on the PokerStars European Poker Tour Grand Final, attracted 252 players to the Nottingham club and it was eventually won by Alex Goulder who walked away with a not too shabby £77,513 for his efforts. Goulder, who used to be a dealer at Dusk Till Dawn, had to navigate through a very tough field and a stellar final table that saw Stuart Fox finish third and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Matt Perrins finish as runner-up.
For anyone who is heading to the Midlands to participate in this great tournament be aware the club does not open its doors until 11:00 and although the Main Event will kick off at midday late registration is open until the end of the sixth 60-minute level. Also, according to Dusk Till Dawn site free wifi will be provided throughout the tournament area so you can read UK PokerNews to your heart's content!
Good luck to anyone playing in the DTD Monte Carlo Main Event.
