Sam Trickett's amazing 2011 has continued after he took down the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event for a cool €1,000,000! This result takes Trickett's lifetime earnings from live poker tournament way past $6,000,000 so he now official the biggest winner in British poker!
The nine-handed table kicked off on Saturday and was paused when there were only four players remaining. These four players, Ilan Boujenah, Oleskii Kovalchuk, Salman Behbehani and Trickett. The first of the foursome to bust out was Boujenah and he was followed out of the tournament area by Kovalchuk. The Ukrainian has had a great break out year having won the Kiev leg of the Russian Poker Tour, his first World Series of Poker bracelet and the IPT Nova Gorica Main Event.
This lead Trickett and the talented American Behbahni to fight it out for the title, Trickett trailing by 5,810,000 to 11,560,000 but the Brit never gave up and finally overturned Behbehani's lead. The final hand saw Behbehani all in and at risk with against Trickett's and when the board bricked off, Trickett had won every single chip in play and the €1,000,000, resigning Behbahni to a career-best €600,000 score.
