Genting Poker Series Announced

First they signed The Hendon Mob, then they added James Akenhead to their roster. Yesterday they bought the Fox Poker Club and now they have announced they will be running a brand new live poker tour in the UK from 2012. We are of course talking about Genting Poker.

The Genting Poker Series will take the tour on seven different stops in the UK and guarantees more than £800,000 in prize pools! The new series kicks off at the Genting Club, Star City, Birmingham between Wednesday 1st to Sunday 5th of February, 2012 with the crowning feature being the very affordable £400+£30 Main Event. Players in the Main Event will start with 25,000 chips and will play to blinds starting at just 25/50, that increase every hour, making it one of the best structures not only in the UK but across the world.

After the opening stop in Birmingham the Genting Poker Series then moves onto Southend, Edinburgh, Stoke, Sheffield and the Palm Beach Casino in London for the grand final, the latter featuring a £1500+£100 Main Event. Just before the Palm Beach there will be an online leg taking place so you could win a massive prize from the comfort of your own home. Each leg has a £100,000 guarantee with the Grand Final boasting a £200,000 guaranteed pot!

There are many saying there is no room for Genting Poker Series in the already saturated UK poker circuit but I beg to differ. The long-running GUKPT has a Main Event costing £1,000+£70 whilst the PokerStars run UKIPT has just increased the buy-ins for its Main Events from £500+£50 to £700+£70 so the Genting Poker Series is perfectly priced and this humble writer will be looking forward to taking part in a few of them!
