Roberto Romanello Wins WPT Bratislava

Roberto Romanello

More success for travelling Brits on the world stage today, as Roberto Romanello wins WPT Bratislava. The Welsh Wizard defeated Mayu Roca heads-up for the title and €140,685.

Romanello won EPT Prague back in December and once again broke down in tears when the final pot was shipped his way.

This result carries on a trend of British players winning EPT events and quickly following it up with success on the World Poker Tour. David Vamplew won EPT London then went on to come 3rd in WPT Venice 5 months later. Jake Cody won both EPT Deuville and WPT London in less than a year in 2010, which also resulted in him winning two European Poker Awards.

In the space of 4 months Romanello has put himself in contention at winning the illustrious poker triple crown in under 12 months this year at the WSOP.

You can see what he had to say, as well as watching him blub again, in this video provided kindly by the PartyPoker Blog.

Congratulations, once again, to Roberto Romanello, who is fast becoming one of the biggest names on the UK circuit.
