Wayne Rideout Wins Sky Poker Tour Newcastle
The first 2011 leg of the Sky Poker Tour has been taken down by one of Team Sky Pros. Wayne "Gliterbabe" Rideout beat 170 other players to take down SPT Newcastle at Aspers Casino last weekend for £4,500. Rideout beat 22 year old Jamie Louise "Jamie Lou" Barrett from Rochdale, one of three female players at the final table, to the title. Rideout and Barrett, along with third place finisher Keith "Riddla" Ridley from Tynemouth, also win seats to September's Sky Poker Tour Grand Final at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham.

The third Leg of the 2010-11 Sky Poker Tour takes place on March 12th at the G Casino in Luton. Entry is qualification only via satellies on www.skypoker.com which begin this week.

Overlay at the DTD Deepstack
Over at DTD in Nottingham the monthly deepstack event featured a £8,200 overlay, as just (How silly does saying ‘just’ sound when we are talking about regularly getting over 300 players) 306 players turned out for the first event of the year. No doubt the weather, post Christmas empty pockets and the PCA played a hand in missing the £100,000 guarantee.

Chris Gavriel was the eventual winner of the £31,183.75 first prize at a final table that included Paul Zimbler and previous champion Michelle Bennett.
