Over in London the 5th instalment of the popular PKR Live took place, at the online poker rooms new live home of the Fox Poker Club. 44 year old Andy Sherwood from Yarm came back from one of the shortest stacks to defeat Jaume Pous Flor of spain heads up for the $20,000 first prize.

UKCOOP Satellites Start on PokerStars
The eagerly awaited UK & Ireland Championship of Online Poker is starting to get more exciting as PokerStars have just announced satellites are running for all 11 events taking place between December 5-12.

European Deepstack Poker Championship IV Announced
The European Deepstack Poker Championship is back in Dublin for the 4th time and the 2011 event looks to be one the best poker events of the year. In 2010 the event sold out a whole month in advance and already the 2011 event looks like it could do the same with nearly 200 places already reserved before the official launch of the tournament!
Once again it’s a five day €550 main event with a 50,000 starting stack and a one hour clock starting on February 2nd, which makes this the deepest event in Europe. This time round capacity has been increased to 1000 players which could make this one of the biggest events of the year, and certainly the one with the most chips in play.
