Justin Smith Wins WPT London High Roller Tournament
The £15,000 High Roller event at the WPT London was played out this weekend, with players such as Tony G, Luke Schwartz, Talal Shakerchi, and Huck Seed and presented by Kara Scott this was a tournament everyone wanted to know about. Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan even made an appearance causing much excitement to everybody watching. In the end though it was left to Tony G and and Justin ‘boosted J’ Smith to battle it out heads up for that first place prize. They fought it out for a while with the chip lead swinging from one to the other. Finally though, Justin Smith ended up with all the chips making him the winner of the WPT London High Roller event with £141,000 in winnings. Tony G finished the game 2nd for £84,600.

PartyPoker World Open Starts Today
Starting today 6th September at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair, London is PartyPoker’s World Open. Phil Laak is there to defend his current title as PartyPoker’s World Open Champion as well as 47 other players who are all there to try and win the title for themselves. There are so many well known pro’s it’s certain to become a tournament that is talked about for a very long time. DTD Monthly Deepstack September
Gregory Garrett was the winner of September’s Monthly Deepstack tournament at DTD. This was no one off win for Garrett either as just last week he finished 7th in the GUKPT Summer Series at Manchester. Garrett, originally from Crosby, Liverpool is currently a Psychology trainer, now living in Windermere in the Lake District. 284 players paid £300 +36 each to enter the tourney at DTD creating a prize pool of £85,200, Garrett fought his way through the tough field until there was nobody left but him. He took away £26,374 for his first place finish and the title of DTD Monthly Deepstack tournament champion for Septemeber 2010.
