UK Pokernews Roundup: Fabian Quoss Wins English Poker Open, WSOPE Day 1 and British Poker Awards Winners

Fabian Quoss Wins English Poker Open
Over at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair the second big Open tournament there this month, the English Poker Open, has drawn to a close. There was a small overlay in this $1 million guaranteed event as 193 players in total bought into the $5,000 event. However there was still plenty of class on display which included Liv Boeree and Phil Laak going deep.

The eventual winner was Fabian Quoss who defeated Sebastian Crul heads up for the £220,650 first prize.

WSOPE Event #1: Day 1
Although perhaps attendances thus far in the huge events in London this month may be slightly lower than expected, that would all change as soon as the WSOPE rolled around. 244 runners made the opening £2650 No Limit Six Max event a sell out. It may have been a capacity crowd but it was soon whittled down to just 31 players by the end of day 1, with Andrew Pantling coming out the chip daddy.
Amongst the big names remaining for day 2 we have Chris Moorman, Chris Bjorin, Phil Laak, Praz Bansi and Liv Boeree. Check out our Live Updates from 2pm to find out just how they get on as they play down to a final table.
