This is a huge weekend for poker with tons of poker action taking place around the UK. With destination’s spread wide over the UK and buy ins in so many different prize ranges. There are literally thousands and thousands of pounds to be won and plenty of fun to be had along the way. If you don’t want to miss out, here are some of the big games that are taking place.
British Masters Poker Tour - Teeside
This weekend, September 10th – 12th, the British Masters Poker Tour is coming to the Gala Casino, Teeside, Stockton on Tees. Sponsored by Coral and hosted by Gala Casinos this three day mini festival has three different events. Kicking off the action on Friday night will be a £200 No limit hold’em tournament starting at 6pm. Saturday brings a two day £500 NL Hold’em main event starting at 2pm and Sunday will see a £100 NL hold’em tourney also starting at 2pm for those weekend players. The winner of the main event will come together with the 5 other winners of the previous main events plus two more players who will be decided according to a points system and a grand final will be held. A £10,000 sponsorship package from Coral is up for grabs and will go to the winner of the Grand Final, the second place finisher will also win a sponsorship deal for £5,000.
UKIPT – Dublin
This seasons UK and Ireland Poker Tour from Pokerstars.com has made its 8th stop in none other than Ireland’s beautiful capital city, Dublin. It is a four day event comprising of a main event with a €500 + 60 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of €250k. Two side events, a €1000+100 NL Heads Up – Winner takes tournament and a ‘Poker for the homeless’ charity event to round the weekend off. To keep you entertained, this event will feature nightly entertainment as well as a warm Irish welcome party. This is a perfect mix weekend of poker and partying at the UKIPT Dublin.
Sky Poker Tour – DTD
11th – 12th September at Dusk til Dawn, Nottingham is the final leg of the Sky Poker Tour. It will cost you £220 to buy in directly to the Grand Final main event and there will be a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000. This Grand Final is the last in the series of 5 other legs and is where the winner will be crowned Sky Poker Champion 2010, as well as bagging themselves a load of cash. Play will start at 2pm, you can register on the day at DTD or online at Skypoker.com. There will be plenty of side games in this dedicated card room and you will also have the chance to meet the Sky Poker presenters, analysts and other staff. Sky will have television teams and will be showing highlights of the games as well as interviews with players so don’t forget your huge sunglasses if you are camera shy.
English Poker Open - London
The English Poker Open is being held this weekend at the Palm Beach Casino, Mayfair. To get you in the festival mood there will be an English Poker Open welcome party, held at the Movida nightclub Argyle Street, London, from 7:30pm on Friday 10th September 2010. Giving you enough time for a nice lay in Saturday’s £3500 + £250 main event doesn’t start until 1pm. Day 1a of the main event will be held on Saturday and day 1b on Sunday with all players coming together on Monday and playing down til the final 9. Tuesday will see the final table played out and the English Poker Open Champion Crowned.
