UK Pokernews Roundup: Three Brits in Final 15 of Event#41, UKIPT Killarney Begins Today, and more

Steve Jelinek

Three Brits in Last 15 of Event #41: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-low Split-8 or Better

Its looking very good for a 5th Brit bracelet tonight in Vegas as not one, not two, but three Brits remain in the final 15 of Event #41: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-low Split-8 or Better. Steve Jelinek and Joel Ettedgi are 2nd and 3rd respectively in the chip counts and Hendon Mob forum favourite Darren Sprengers is 11th, but it’s a very tight field and it all could soon change.

Steve Jelinek in particular will be the one to watch in this tournament, not only is he one of the most prolific tournament players in the UK but he also came 6th in this very event last year, so he will know what a PLO8 final table feels like. Unfortunately for all three men there is plenty of class left in the field, most notably Barry Greenstein and Phil Hellmuth looking for his first non hold’em bracelet.

Find out how they get on tonight via our Event #41: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-low Split-8 or Better Live Updates tonight.

Stuart Rutter 7th in Event #40: $2,500 Seven Card Razz

Top UK pro Stuart Rutter did indeed make his second WSOP final table of the year last night in Vegas as he came 2nd in Event #40: $2,500 Seven Card Razz. This was his first non hold’em final after spending the year learning mixed games. There was no rest for Rutter as he almost immediately took his $25,646 winnings straight into the $10,000 HORSE Championship that started yesterday.

UKIPT Killarney Begins Today

No doubt this will be the biggest event outside of Vegas during the WSOP but there are lots of rumours there still could be an overlay in the €250,000 guaranteed UKIPT Killarney. The €1000+€100 main event begins today at the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney, plus there are number of side events including a €1000+€100 heads up tournament. Not only could there be an overlay but with all the big pros in Vegas, this could be about the best value €1000 tournament of the year.

Check out the UKIPT website for live updates and you can qualify for the next leg of the tour in Brighton right now at Pokerstars.

Speaking of Pokerstars, we have a staggering $10,000 Sunday Million Freeroll taking place with them. Pokernews referred account holders only need 250VPPs to take part in this fantastic value free satellite with over 200 tournament tickets on offer.
