Ross Johnson Wins Coral British Masters Poker Tour Leeds

Despite the World Series of Poker and the World Cup taking a lot of players out of the equation last weekend there was still plenty of poker up and down the UK. One of the biggest events was the second leg of the Coral British Masters Poker Tour in Leeds, which attracted 69 runners for the £500 main event.

The eventual winner was Ross Johnson of Gateshead who played a blinder, coming back from a severely crippled stack on day one (Courtesy of some donk called Barry Carter) to bulldoze his way through a tough final table that included Ash Hussain, Bristol leg runner up Tom Fielding and some donk called Barry Carter. He pocketed £12,000 for his win and a seat in the Play off for the Coral Sponsorship package for 2011

This event was one of the best natured and most fun events this writer has played in years and not just because he cashed, a full report will follow in the Editors column this week. The next leg of the tour is in Liverpool when the Tour will return to Gala Leos Casino in four weeks time starting on Friday July 9th to Sunday July 11th.
