Chris Moorman

Moorman and Bansi Top Event #5 $1500 No Limit Chip Counts
We have been waiting for something positive to report for the UKs efforts in Vegas and now we have a big shot in the arm. 2092 players have been whittled down to 243 in the $1500 No Limit Event, with Chris Moorman and Praz Bansi in the top ten chip leaders.

Moorman is no stranger to large field tournaments and is looking to turn his online form into a major live result. Bansi is already in the exclusive club of being known as a bracelet winner and has come close to winning bracelet number 2 several times, he will be one of the favourites going into day 2.

Matt Goss Sings American National Anthem at WSOP
We missed this at the time and did one hell of a double take when we saw it today, but former Bros star Matt Goss opened the 2010 World Series of Poker by singing the American National Anthem before the $1,000 No Limit Event. London based boyband Bros were infamous one hit wonders in the UK in the 1980s and now Goss has reinvented himself in Las Vegas, with a regular show at Caesars Palace.

In fairness he can still belt out a bit of a tune and who knows, maybe later on in the series we might see Rick Astley or Brother Beyond making an appearance at the Rio?

Big Overlay in Dusk Till Dawn WSOP Satellite
You will be kicking yourself if didn't take the advice of our item last week that suggested there could be an overlay in the 10 package guaranteed WSOP Satellite at Dusk Till Dawn yesterday. It was indeed an overlay, 127 players in total turned up for the £500 event which guaranteed 10 £8300 packages, which means there was an overlay of almost £20,000. Dont say we didn’t warn you, the lucky winners were:

1 Lawrence Gosney
2 Jonathan Grice
3 Richard Berridge
4 Patryk Slusarek
5 Tony Salmon
6 Chris J Wood
7 Ray Brookshaw
8 Nick Whiten
9 Dwayne Quinn
10 Glen Storey

Don’t kick yourself again, there is still chance to qualify for the $30,000 Full Tilt Poker WSOP freerolls we have running this week, but this is literally your chance as time is running out. The freerolls are June 5th and 6th and you have until June 4th qualify.
