GUKPT Summer Series Results
Over the weekend, Luton and Abderdeen hosted two further legs of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Summer Series. The Luton festival kicked off with a £150 NL Hold'em freezeout, which was won by Guiseppe Fontana, who outlasted a field of 107 players to claim victory. There were also side event wins for Alex Burton, who won the 69-runner £250 NL Hold'em freezeout, Chen Tan (£250 PL Omaha Double Chance Freezeut) and Ian Wilmott (£100 NL Hold'em Bounty Freezeout). The £500 main event was contested by 53 players and was won by Reading's Graham Pound, who took down the first prize of £8,740.
Meanwhile, the G Casino in Aberdeen was hosting a smaller festival, featuring a £300 main event. There were side event wins for Alisha Skene (£200 NL Hold'em Freezeout), David Gooch (£150 NL Hold'em Freezeout) and Richard Scott (£100 NL Hold'em Bounty Freezeout). However it was Deborah Masson who secured victory in the main event, becoming the first female winner of a main event at a GUKPT festival. She defeated a field of just 33 player to win the £3,670 first prize.
The next stops on the Summer Series begin next week, when the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall hosts a six day festival, which starts on Tuesday 22nd June.
