James Dempsey

Flushy On Top in Event #9 $1500 Pot Limit Hold’em

JP Kelly was not able to defend his bracelet from last year for long but another UK talent has stepped up to the plate in the $1500 Pot Limit Hold’em. Flushy is a very popular figure in the UK and is one of those players most think should have bagged a major live title by now. You can follow his fortunes via our exclusive live updates later on tonight.

2nd and 3rd for Channing and Rutter

We had high hopes for a UK 1-2 in event number #6 the $5000 No Limit Shootout, but we will have to settle for a very impressive 2-3 as Neil Channing came 2nd and Stuart Rutter came 3rd to Joshua Tieman. This was the closest both men have come to the bracelet they so desperately crave, but will have to settle for the very impressive sums of $273,153 and $179,617 respectively, which will no doubt pay for their WSOP and then some.

"Joshua played really well in the end and was a deserving winner," commented Channing on BlackBelt Poker just moments after the final hand was dealt. "Unfortunately, I saw very few hands on the final table, but felt I did the best with what I had. It was also great to see fellow Brit Stuart Rutter make the final table too. I'm sure it won't be his last."

"Of course, it was disappointing to come so close to winning a bracelet," he continued with a disappointed smile, "but I'm sure there will be other opportunities in the future. Having finished second in the London GUKPT, second in the iPoker Monthly Million, and now second here, I think I should definitely give the heads-up event a miss."

1st Joshua Tieman — $441,692
