Femi Fakinle Wins UKIPT Killarney
Over in Killarney it was a case of WSOP, what WSOP? As an impressive 252 players sat down for the €1000 Pokerstars UKIPT Killarney Main Event. The guarantee of €250,000 was met, just, and the biggest benefactor was Femi Fakinle of Ireland. Watched on the rail by his Fiance and son, he defeated fellow Irishman Aonghus Farrell in a swingy heads up match to take down the first prize.
Not only did he bag himself €63,400 and a seat in EPT London, he also won a seat in UKIPT Dublin for being the last Pokerstars qualifier standing. UK player Michael Hill, who made the UKIPT Manchester final, also made this final which has given him top spot on the UKIPT Leader board.
After lifting the crystal trophy, Fakinle – who has recently completed an accountancy qualification – said, “I’m over the moon; it’s been a long few days. Aonghus was the player I was most worried about at the start of the final table...[but] I got some cards and got lucky at the right time.”
The next stop in the first Season of the PokerStars.com UKIPT is at the Rendezvous Casino in Brighton on July 15-19. Qualifiers are running now for the £1000+100 Main Event on PokerStars for as little as £5.50 or 250FPPs.
