Just hours before the 41st annual World Series of Poker opens its doors, the official dates for the World Series of Poker Europe have been announced and it will once again take place in the fall from Sept 14-28. The WSOP Europe will have five events total this year, one more than in 2009, and will once again call the Casino at the Empire in London, it's home.

Since it's inception in 2007, the WSOP Europe main event has been won by Annette Obrestad, John Juanda, and Barry Shulman who beat out Daniel Negreanu heads-up in one of the longest final tables in WSOP history.

2010 WSOP Betting Odds
It took some of the top UK sportsbooks a while to get some markets up, but finally there are some books running for the World Series of Poker. The biggest markets are on William Hill and Bet365 who are the only ones to run an outright win market. More books have final table markets including SportingBet and Ladbrokes.

Interesting markets include event 2, the $50,000 Players Championship, which you can bet on at Bet365. Naturally Phil Ivey is the favourite at 21-1 with Barry Greenstein at a tempting 34-1 and Jeff Lisandro at an equally tempting 65-1.

Ladbrokes are the only ones with a market for the prestigious $10,000 PLO Championship. Lots of UK and Ireland players amongst the favourites for this including Richard Ashby, Marty Smyth and Dave Ulliott. Ben Grundy is on at 50-1 and we think that is a fantastic looking bet, as is John Kabbaj at 66-1.

James Akenhead

Then of course Bet365 have a top GB & Ireland player in the main event market. Naturally James Akenhead is the favourite with Neil Channing, Julian Thew and Roland De Wolfe also near the top. Amongst this huge field we really like the look of Steve Jelenik, who keeps on missing out on major titles and has stayed under the radar a lot, although we would like better than the 66-1 odds offered.

We like betting on the WSOP here at UK Pokernews, so stay tuned as we will keep you posted on all the most interesting markets.
