Willie Tann Imposter on Facebook, London Poker Masters Announced + more
Willie Tann Facebook Scam
Someone posing as UK poker legend Willie Tann has created a Facebook account in an attempt to scam players online. The imposter has been asking people for small amounts of money ($30-$200) to be transferred into their Full Tilt/Pokerstars accounts as either a loan or a site money swap (Amounts the real Willie Tann probably wouldn’t bother to even ask for).
Thankfully some vigilant people on the Blonde and Hendon Mob forums have made people aware that it is 100% NOT the real Willie Tann. It appears now the account has been deleted by Facebook, however please still be vigilant because it’s not the first time an imposter has posed as established player on Facebook, Hendon Mobster Joe Beavers was recently also a victim of this. The common sense solution is to simply deny any Facebook requests asking for cash unless you can verify without doubt they are who they say they are (An even more prudent rule to go by is to never ever lend poker players money under any circumstances).
