UK Player Wayne Bentley Tops Day 1A of the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure

Wayne Bentley

The 2010 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure looks set to be another gargantuan field, with 669 players sitting down for day 1A yesterday. Of that field, 430 will be returning for the combined day 2 tomorrow. Standing head and shoulders above the rest, with a huge chip lead, is Wayne Bentley of the United Kingdom who won his seat online at Pokerstars. Bentley doubled up very early at the start of the day with aces against kings and hasn’t looked back since, with more than 100,000 chips more than his nearest rival.

He will be looking over his shoulder at some big names, however, as Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu and defending champion Poorya Nazari are amongst the big names at the top of the chip counts from day 1a. Team Pokerstars finished very strongly with 9 members of the team chipped up for day 2. Not many UK players remain from the first day, but we are expecting a big showing today for day 1b.
