Poker Million Final This Week

The Full Tilt Poker Million VIII reaches its live final this Friday on Sky Sports, where one player will end the year by winning $500,000. This week you can watch the final three heats which led to the final table.

Tonight is the second chance turbo heat at 10:15pm and features Gus Hansen, Antonio Esfandiari, Christian Harder, Bradley Craig, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Michael Tureniec all fighting for a spot in the final. On Wednesday night at 9pm you can watch Annette Obrestad, Luke "Full Flush" Schwartz, Nam Le, two-time finalist Tony Bloom and Paul Zimbler. Finally on Thursday is the second semi final which features WSOP final tableist James Akenhead, online sensation Tom "Durrrr" Dwan, Taylor Caby, four-time WSOP bracelet winner David Chiu, Dag Martin Mikkelsen and Daniel Bowden.

"The Poker Million final is always one of the most exciting dates for the poker diary," said Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Sport. "We staged poker's first ever live televised final back in 2000 and since then it's been an event that all the top players want to take down. With the likes of Tom Dwan, Nam Le, Luke Schwartz, Annette Obrestad, Juha Helppi and James Akenhead in the semi finals, Friday night is set to be an electric night of poker.

European Deepstack Poker Championships III

Without doubt one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Irish Poker Calendar, the European Deepstack Poker Championships have announced their third outing. What makes this event unique is the structure, which at 50,000 starting chips and a slow clock makes it the most generous event of the year. The event takes place between February 4-8 next year at the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel in Dublin (Whom the organisers have arranged a deal of €49 per room per night).

Last year Francis McCormack took down the event beating 153 other players. This time round also the buy-in has been reduced from €1650 to €550, which almost certainly will ensure that this event will be full to the capacity of 400. With a reduced buy-in and a great deal on hotels, this could be an early contender for the best value event of the year. The full schedule looks like this:

Thurs 4th Feb 8pm €50+€10 Super Satellite - 15 Seats Guaranteed
Fri 5th Feb 2pm €500+€50 Deepstack Main Event - 50k chips - 3 day event
