UK Players Flying High at EPT Vilamoura
Over in Portugal 322 players from 30 countries attended the EPT Vilamoura main event and we are now down to 177, with plenty of Brits flying the flag. DTD Owner Rob Yong is leading the charge in 4th place with 123,300 and its great to see the UK poker pioneer actually being able to enjoy some poker, no doubt he will have a big cheering section later today. Up and coming young player John Eames is also flying high, in 7th with 110,000. Other UK names left in the field include Julian Thew, Simon Nowab, Stuart Rutter, Praz Bansi and JP Kelly.
What is also very interesting is that JP Kelly has officially been unveiled as a Team Pokerstars Pro, the young double bracelet winner is 13th overall going into day 2 and well done to him, as it was only a matter of time before he got snapped up by a sponsor. You can follow all their fortunes from start to finish via our Live Updates.
