Pokerstars EPT London Starter Satellites, Major Landmarks at PKR + more
EPT London Starter Satellites
Another welcome addition from Pokerstars.net as the build up to EPT London begins to hot up. For those players who want to sample the atmosphere of a big buy-in event like the EPT for a fraction of the price, they have unveiled EPT London Starter Satellites.
Every Sunday, there will be an 18 package guaranteed qualifier for a £330 side event at the Vic on September 18th, 4PM. Each package is worth $650 and includes buy-in, $100 and a Pokerstars Player Bag. Every night at 9pm there is a $11 qualifier to the Sunday final, which is a $77 buy-in. Pokerstars are sending at least 57 players to the Starter event and it looks like that will be one of the best attended midstakes tournaments available in London in September.
PKR Celebrate 3rd Birthday and 3 Millionth Customer
You cannot keep PKR out of the news at the moment and this week the virtual reality poker room are celebrating two major landmarks. First of all, it was their 3rd anniversary on Monday and even more impressive, they signed up their 3 millionth customer on Sunday. Add onto that their persistent climbing of the internet traffic rankings and picking up multiple awards for their software, and things are really looking good for PKR.
Marketing Director Simon Prodger said, "We're very pleased with the year's achievements, and it's especially exciting to see us maintain such a high rate of growth. We also have a number of new developments in the pipeline that we hope will propel PKR to even greater heights over the next twelve months."
IPO Almost Sold Out
The BoylePoker International Poker Open looks set to smash attendance records once again, as they have already almost sold out their first allocation of 1000 seats! 800 players have already signed up to the $250 event at the Regency Hotel in Dublin from October 16th to 18th.
Paul Spillane, head of poker at Boylepoker said, "We're delighted with the response so far and the remaining seats from the first 1,000 are sure to sell out in the next week or so. We have held some seats back for online qualification and some big name VIP guests but, contrary to information on some poker forums, they may not all necessarily be allocated this way. One thing is for sure, the IPO 2009 will be even bigger and better than last year and players should register now to avoid disappointment."
