PaddyPower announces Irish Open Last Chance Saloon satellites
Its nearly here, the biggest poker event on the Irish Calendar and also one of the biggest you'll see in Europe in 2009. The Paddy Power Poker Irish Open starts on Friday the 10th of April and the last series of qualifiers start today. The Last Chance Saloon are a series of $300 + $20 ticket-only satellites. The four Last Chance Saloon grand final tournaments are scheduled April 5th – 8th at 8.30pm, with feeder satellites running from April 3rd. One Irish Open main event ticket will be awarded for every $4,650 in the prize pool.
This is one awesome tournament, with a huge prize pool expected and an army of online qualifiers rubbing shoulders with the world elite. Poker Ashes on 888 Poker
It's hard to believe that the Ashes are just round the corner. It's one of the greatest sporting events in the world that demonstrates one-upmanship at its best and will be back in England from the 16th of July. 888 Poker, who sponsor Cricket legend Shane Warne, are getting in on the act.

888 to Launch the DragonFish Network
More on 888 Poker now as they have announced they will be launching a new white label poker network called DragonFish. The company will be offering software, customer support and more to online poker skins.
In a company statement they confirmed ""The new branding is in recognition of Dragonfish's separate function within 888 and to differentiate Dragonfish's B2B offering which is distinct from, but complimentary to, 888's traditional B2C products."
They already have one client, UK racing news paper the Racing Post. This is a huge acquisition for both parties as the Racing Post is such a trusted brand and will open the doors to a huge market of new players (With potentially very juicy games if it attracts their sports betting client base).
Spring Poker Challenge Starts Today
Today sees the start of the Spring Poker Challenge at the Rendezvous Casino at the Kursaal at Southend on Sea. It's a three day mini festival with three hold'em events, including a £300 main event. The main event is already filling up fast, with over 30 players having pre-registered or won their seats. The schedule looks like this:
