Opis/sp Wins Sunday Million, Another Sunday Wrap-Up. 0001

It was a weekend loaded with competition! The final of both the Xfactor and strictly come boring sorry dancing and an intense game of snakes and ladders got me fired up. This must've got all us poker players in the mood because the turnout was huge with prize pools to match.

I nearly cried for poor little Eoghan getting voted out of Xfactor, cheered on Alexandra and was secretly pleased when JLS were knocked out, then I realised I need to get out more! But seriously these are the same kind of emotions that can be had from watching a big poker tournament. Watch it for long enough and you will probably realise you want one player to win more than another and you secretly want someone to take a sick bad beat so your guy or girl can win through.

Sunday Warm Up – PokerStars

Congratulations to mmmbillski who topped the list in this weeks 750k GTD Sunday Warm-Up over on PokerStars. He took the edge heads up and made a medal worthy comeback attempt from suckedoutagn to eventually take the win.

The tournament started almost 30k over guarantee this week. But it didn't change the first place prize which was its usual 100k+ and with Christmas looming it was well worth a fight. The players didn't disappoint either.

The game started steady as always but when it got to the last 100 I seemed to blink and it was the final table! The first player out was hidalgo18 and that set the ball rolling. Next was DenyoDeluxXe all in with {8-Spades} {8-Hearts} to the pocket rockets {a-Clubs} {a-Hearts}. The board was no help for the snowmen and we were down to seven after just a few minutes. Seconds after this and there was another player at the rail. mortens22 found what seemed like a nice hand, {a-Spades} {q-Diamonds} on a flop of {6-Spades} {a-Hearts} {10-Spades}, getting all in against mmmbillski only to be confronted with {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} trips, bumping the eventual winners prize pool to a commanding 16.3 million in chips.

Quite a few hands pasted before D1rtyR1v3r knocked out mi||a.TiMe who found themselves way behind with {7-Spades} {7-Clubs} against D1rty's {q-Hearts} {q-Clubs}. It was D1rtyR1v3r who knocked out riddup in 4th place when it was more like a dirty flop when his {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}, busting riddup's {q-Clubs} {q-Spades} seeing Tens trip again {4-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {10-Clubs}. I felt sad for riddup, he'd been hanging in there but his patience wasn't rewarded!

Stacks were pretty even going 3 up with D1rtyR1v3r sneaking the chip lead of 16.8m in chips away from mmmbillski in the first hand. Not surprisingly this is when D1rty suggested a deal. He didn't like the numbers saying he needed 80k and urged for a deal to be struck at the heads up stage.

The next player out was guess who, D1rtyR1v3r, but it wasn't his fault. He continued to build a lead getting mmmbillski on the ropes, all in with {k-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} to D1rty's {a-Spades} {4-Clubs} only for the board to roll out {j-Spades} {k-Clubs} {3-Spades} {j-Hearts} {9-Hearts}.

His next tough break was when he found {j-Hearts} {j-Diamonds} only for them to meet head on with suckedoutagn's {a-Spades} {a-Diamonds}. All in pre flop and a board with no jack put D1rty all the way down to 5.7m. It wasn't long before his remaining chips were shoved from the button. A blind steal that went wrong when mmmbillski called showing {q-Diamonds} {q-Hearts} eventually hitting trips on the river when it fell {q-Spades}

Now it was on. 19.4m played 19.5m with suckedoutagn holding the meaningless lead. Again the tournament was paused to discuss a deal. Suckedoutagn wanted a split down the middle but mmmbillski wanted the heads up to be worth something. 10k for the winner was agreed and it was game on.

mmmbillski pulled slowly away from suckedoutagn hovering between 23 and 27 million before the final hand was played out. Both players had plenty of chips with a flop of {j-Diamonds} {k-Spades} {q-Diamonds}. Bill check called the all in of suckedoutagn but who wouldn't with {9-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} and the low straight. suckedoutagn held just second pair with {q-Spades} {6-Clubs} and it was all over. Congratulations again.

1: mmmbillski - $101374.00

Next out were Mighty Hose and 5fish respectively. It was a long time after that TommyE79 finished in 6th after CH101 hit another straight with {10-Hearts} {q-Spades} vs. Tommy's {a-Spades} {2-Hearts}. The very next hand saw drpossjr25 knock out Eeedz in 5th place when Eeedz pushed all in pre- flop with {a-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} drpossjr25 showed pocket kings no ace from space, Eeedz was sent packing.

Drpossjr25 was unfortunately next out, leaving only three players. The final three eventually came to a deal in their second chip chop count after the first deal fell through. Jdballer40 was out next in 3rd with {k-Clubs} {q-Diamonds} trying to hit a flush draw against the already made top pair of opis/sp, no club arrived and it was heads up.

Heads up began, opis/sp had a huge chip lead and he used them wisely to take the win. After some preflop raising from both players the flop fell {a-Hearts} {k-Diamonds} {6-Spades} CH101 pushed all in, opis/sp called. CH101 showed he was making a move with {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} and opis/sp showed his ready made pair with {q-Clubs} {j-Clubs}. No miracle for CH101 made opis/sp this weeks Sunday Million winner.

$750k Guaranteed – FullTilt

3485 entrants took on the $750k guaranteed on FullTilt. Play started at 18:00et and it was nine hours later that dudetronic eventually took the stardom of first place in the $750k earning him $132,787.50.

Final table play lasted an hour it was only 3 minutes in that the first played was knocked out. Bbuddy4brkfst had previously lost a huge hand when he called smfit29's all in with {k-Clubs} {10-Spades}, smfit29 showed {a-Spades} {k-Diamonds} and the ace fell, leaving Bbuddy with only 105,348k in chips. The very next hand Bbuddy4brkfst shoved all his chips in and was instantly called by smfit39, shAAArk went all in over the top forcing smfit29 to fold. Cards on their backs Bbuddy4brkfst showed {q-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}, shAAArk {q-Spades} {10-Spades}. shAAArk hit a straight on the turn and that was the demise of Buddy4brkfst.

The next few players were knocked out one by one and then there were 3. oldist, skullkicker and dudetronic, the three players were all desperately trying to hang onto their chips and outlast each other. Oldist was to leave next in 3rd position, he ended up all in with {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} vs. The {k-Spades} {j-Spades} of dudetronic a flop of {j-Hearts} {k-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} left oldist praying for a queen or ten, neither fell and oldist was out, it was another Eoghan moment!

Heads up was very fast lasting only 3 minutes; dudetronic applied the pressure hard until it eventually paid off. He had skullkicker all in on a {q-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {j-Diamonds} flop, cards in the air showed skullkicker with {q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} and dudetronic with a straight and flush draw {a-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}, the turn ended the game when the {4-Diamonds} fell making dudetronic his flush.
