High Stakes Poker has raised the stakes for the 4th series of the highly popular show. The new season will air over seven exciting episodes, as some of the highest profile professionals play the biggest cash game ever seen on television. The buy in has been risen from $100,000 to a staggering $500,000.
The series will start filming on November the 5th, with players competing for millions of dollars, CASH! There has been a fantastic response from some of the biggest names in poker. The legend himself, Doyle Brunson, is committed to playing in the game.
Brunson will be joined by Daniel Negreanu and Jamie Gold. Negreanu has won three WSOP bracelets and is considered one of the finest players in the world. Gold rose to fame with his record breaking win at the 2006 WSOP Main Event. It will be interesting to see how he goes competing against the best of the best with massive stakes on the line.
High stakes cash superstar Sammy Farha will also compete. Farha has played in every season of High Stakes Poker so far, and will again provide viewers with fantastic entertainment. Farha is another payer at the table that owns multiple WSOP bracelets, with two on his record.
Adding an international flavour will be Finland's champion Patrik Antonius. Anotonius is considered to be Finland's best cash player and is widely regarded as one of the worlds best online poker players. Barry Greenstein will also compete. Greenstein is another player at this high stakes game with multiple WSOP Bracelets, with victories in the 2004 $5,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw and the 2005 $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha. Greenstein is also famous for donating his tournament winnings to various charities, mainly to Children Incorporated.
Another big name player parting with 500k is Antonio Esfandiari. Like Farha, Esfandiari has also played in every season of High Stakes Poker. "The Magician" is well respected as a quality tournament and cash player, with millions in tournament cashes to his name. David Benyamine is another confirmed participant. Benyamine is a well known high stakes poker player, sport better and high stakes online player.
With all these stars competing for massive dollars, the viewing will be compelling. Adding the "x-factor" will be Cirque De Soleil CEO and co-founder Guy Laliberte. Guy is a quality player that is having some great results on the tournament scene. This is a different level again for the relative newcomer, as he takes on the absolute best in the business. In a fantastic gesture, Laliberte will be donating some of his winnings to the One Drop Foundation. The One Drop Foundation provides money to help third world countries with provisions of drinking water.
