European Rankings Update - Colclough a Big Mover

European Rankings Update - Colclough a Big Mover 0001

With the World Series of Poker Europe starting on Thursday we thought it was a good time to check in with the Mansion European Poker Rankings. It looks like it is going to be the richest poker tournament ever seen on these shores and thus any European that makes their mark on the tournament will jump up significantly up the tree.

The biggest and in fact only mover in the rankings since we last visited it is no doubt Dave Colclough. Last month the rankings looked like this:

1st Andreas Krause (Germany) 5,635

2nd Soren Kongsgaard (Denmark) 4,450

3rd Dave Smith (England) 4,240

4th Erich Kollmann (Austria) 4,085

5th Samir Shakhtoor (Sweden) 3,940

6th Sebastian Ruthenberg (Germany) 3,885

7th Dave Colclough (Wales) 3,700

8th Yevgeniy Timoshenko (Russia) 3,575

9th Mazhar Nawab (England) 3,404

10th Magnus Petersson (Sweden) 3,300

10th Andreas Hoivold (Norway) 3,300

But since that time, El Blondie made back to back final tables at the NPL in London, winning the 2nd event. Final tables are what matter in the European ranking system and this feat alone has seen him catapult 6 places into 2nd place:

1st Andreas Krause (Germany) 5,635

2nd Dave Colclough (Wales) 4,585

3rd Soren Kongsgaard (Denmark) 4,450

4th Dave Smith (England) 4,240

5th Erich Kollmann (Austria) 4,085

6th Samir Shakhtoor (Sweden) 3,940

7th Sebastian Ruthenberg (Germany) 3,885

8th Yevgeniy Timoshenko (Russia) 3,575

9th Mazhar Nawab (England) 3,404

10th Magnus Petersson (Sweden) 3,300

10th Andreas Hoivold (Norway) 3,300

So not only is he in great form going into the WSOPE but there is also the added interest that there is a Pot Limit Omaha competition in the event. Dave is considered by many to be the best PLO player in Europe is likely to be one of the favourites to take the bracelet.

Its going to be a very busy year end on the European circuit, right after the WSOPE we have an influx of EPT events that potentially could seal the deal for any of the players in the top ten. With the WSOPE, EPT London and Dublin and a GUKPT event every month, it does look very promising for one of the UK players vying for the title and £20,000 on offer from Mansion Poker.
