It's going to be a busy week for our good friends at Pokerstars. Fresh from their hugely successful endorsement of the Hold'em 100 yesterday they have the job of hosting two major international poker tournaments this week; The EPT London and the APPT Seoul. Pokerstars have recently added a number of stars to their ever growing roster, including Dario Minieri, Hevad Khan and of course Daniel Negreanu. We are expecting to see the members of Team Pokerstars to be split up evenly to represent at each event accordingly.
Daniel Negreanu, Katja Thater and Hevad Khan are already confirmed for the EPT London, starting tomorrow at the Victoria Casino. Elsewhere the second stop on the groundbreaking Asian Pacific Poker Tour starts at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill in Seoul on Friday, and all the buzz is about WSOP Champion Joe Hachem confirming his attendance.
The EPT London is already well under way with a series of side events and there has already been a very juicy Seven Card Stud event which saw WSOPE HORSE champion Thomas Bihl take home the trophy, with Paul Parker, Michael Greco and Willie Tann all joining him at the Final Table. The £5,400 main event is capped at 500 players and we are expecting a sell out for the event which Vicky Coren emerged the champion last year.
The APPT event is comparably a much lower stakes affair at $2,500 entry, with a great deal of the expected 250 entrants being online qualifiers. The inaugural event in Manilla was a hugely successful affair with a final table of relatively inexperienced (to live poker) players fighting it out for the $600,000 prize pool.
If that wasn't enough, the World Poker Tour are in business this week with their first ever WPT Turks and Caicos Island event. It will be fascinating to find out just how successful this will be on the Caribbean Island. Their last event at the Borgata had 560 entrants despite running almost alongside the WSOPE; now with the EPT and APPT coinciding and the fact that it is outside of Vegas, who knows how big this one will be?
The only place to go for all the EPT and APPT news, hands, bust outs and drama is of course our world class Live Updates, which start tomorrow at the European Poker Tour.
