Our new WSOP champion has barely had time to purchase a display cabinet for his shiney new bracelet and we are already talking about the next event on the WSOP calendar. All eyes are now on London and pre-registration has already begun for the £10,000 World Series of Poker Europe.
Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Allen Cunningham, Eli Elezra and Jennifer Harman are amongst the WSOP bracelet winners that are not put off by the trip across the pond. No word yet on whether new champion Jerry Yang will be in attendance but 2006 champ Jamie Gold has confirmed he will be joining the party.
"There are over 60 WSOP bracelets between the pre-registrants so far," said World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack. "The inaugural World Series Europe will have a world-class field."
Also in attendance will be a man trying to continue his dominance in the World Series, Phil Hellmuth. Phil has already broke records for the number of bracelets, cashes and final tables at the WSOP and now he wants to go one better and be the first person to capture WSOP gold on foreign soil.
So far Roland De Wolfe is the only top drawer Brit that has put his name down for the event, but we're expecting Chorleyville's Jon Kalmar to join the dance after his impressive final table appearance at the main event this year.
Betfair.com are giving away 125 seats at the event which looks set to be the biggest ever in Europe, at least in prize money. Held over three venues in central London (The Empire, Fifty and the Sportsman) in September you'll be able to get all the news and updates right here at uk.pokernews.com.
