phil ivey Day 1B seemed to pick up exactly where day 1B left off in the opening £1000 No Limit event at the WSOPE, breaking records and busting players at a magnificent rate.

Record Breaking Field
313 players yesterday meant for a combined field of 608, which is a new record for a tournament held in London. This beat the record created last year in the EPT Main Event and nearly matches the total participants in the entire festival last year, which stands at 623. All of which means that 63 players will make the money today, the daddy of which getting £136,803 for the first prize in tommorows final.

Dunlop Tops Day1B
Fabien Dunlop of London came out on

top yesterday, with 63,375 chips. He tops another impressive field which saw Annette Obrestad, Allen Cunningham, Jeff Lisandro, Howard Lederer and James Akenhead amongst the notables to bite the dust. Just like yesterday, it was carnage, with play being stopped early to accommodate the rate at which players were busting out. 49 survivors from day 1B join the 40 from day 1A, with JP Kelly still well out in front with 98,825. Great news overall too for the UK, with 49 of the 89 players still in the mix being from the United Kingdom.

Kellett Richard 67,225

Today's Action
Today sees the fields from day 1A and 1B combine for the penultimate day of the £1000 No Limit event. Tomorrow is the final and also the start of the £2500 Pot Limit Hold'em/Omaha event at 12pm.

The European Championships at the Victoria Casino hosts the £1000 no limit event today and a £500 No Limit event tomorrow, both at 4.00pm.

Balla Ivey Story
Phil Ivey's not a stranger to all things Balla: he left first prize as a tip in one his bracelet events, he flipped for a million with Ziigmund, and he famously triumphed in a posh restaurant when he sent 200 bottles of wine over to some wealthy businessman. To say he's shy with money would be somewhat of a lie.

Here in London, little has changed. Ivey and his 30-strong entourage reserved a box at the Jay-Z concert at Wembley, eager to continue the luxurious lifestyle in which he has become accustomed to. Before setting off, however, it looked as though there might be a little traffic along the way, so instead of braving the busy London A-roads, Ivey decided to order a last minute helicopter and jet his team to the stadium in style.

He doesn't do many interviews, yet he remains the talk of the town. When you're as bling as Ivey though, you don't need to speak, you let your actions do the talking.
