sky poker Sky Poker Tour Season Two
Great news from Sky Poker now as they have announced the second season of their hugely popular Sky Poker Tour. Last year was a runaway success, with keen amateurs around the country rubbing shoulders with the pros and stars of the TV channel, in the fun filled environment that live poker should be.

The schedule looks like this, with the seat values for the first five legs being £100 and the grand final being £250:

Leg One - November 7th 2009, G Casino, Manchester.
Leg Two -
Unibet Poker
January 9th, 2010, Aspers, Newcastle.
Leg Three - March 6th, 2010, G Casino, Luton
Leg Four - 8th May, 2010, Alea, Glasgow
Leg Five - 10th July, 2010, Aspers Swansea
GRAND FINAL - 11th & 12th September, 2010 - DTD, Nottingham.

Entry will be Satellite Only with qualifiers taking place exclusively on Sky Poker from this week. If you don't win your seat online, there will still be the usual 'Play the Presenter' live SNGs and cash games and all the usual camaraderie that make the Sky Poker Tour such a special event.

To celebrate this great news we are hosting a special Sky Poker Freeroll exclusive to Pokernews readers. Sky Poker are giving away two seats to their £15,000 guaranteed Primo, as well as £150 cash to the winner. This is open to anyone who registers a Sky Poker account via Pokernews and makes a minimum deposit, and is open to anyone who has previously joined Sky Poker via Pokernews. The tournament takes place on the 8th of October at 19:00 and can be found in the Freeroll section of the Multi Table Tournaments lobby.

More Names Confirm for the PartyPoker World Opendurrrr
The EPT might be almost over, but that doesn't mean the London Poker month is done and dusted. Yet another big event takes place this weekend, as on Sunday the 11th, the Party Poker World Open takes place at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair. The main changes this year are that the starting stacks have been tripled, with the tables now being eight seat in the heats and seven players in the final. The buy-in is $10,000, with a total prize pool of $480,000 – the winner scooping $250,000.

Newly confirmed players include man of the moment Yevgeniy Timoshenko, UK WSOP and WSOPE bracelet holder JP Kelly, Layne Flack, Teddy Sheringham, Andrew Feldman, Roland De Wolfe, Paul Zimbler, Sammy George and Bruno Fitoussi. Amongst all these big names, Tom 'durrrr' Dwan has been unveiled as the 10/1 favourite to take down this event, a spokesman commented "The early money is for Durrrr, which isn't really a surprise, but favourites do not have a good record in this competition. We're delighted with the field. Every heat features a super strong line-up. For example, two online qualifiers have to deal with the likes of Yevgeniy Timoshenko, James Akenhead, Luke 'FullFlush' Schwartz and Ian Frazer and that is only in heat one!"
