The World Poker Tour is set to return to the British capital in March, when Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City host the PartyPoker.com WPT National London festival.
Although the full schedule for PartyPoker.com WPT National London is still being finalised, PokerNews has been given a few details from our sources within the WPT. The £1,500+£150 WPTN London Main Event will feature two starting flights, will be played to a re-entry format and will have late registration open for the first six levels.
Complementing the main event will be an impressive side event schedule that includes a High Roller tournament, and a lavish player’s party that Aspers are throwing in the in the casino’s Skybar on Mar. 16.
The popular WPT National main events give players the chance to experience a WPT tournament but at a much reduced cost. For their £1,650, WPTN London players will sit down with 25,000 chips and play to a tried-and-test blind structure that was created by renowned tournament director Matt Savage.
In the weeks leading up to the festival, Aspers will be running live satellites to the WPTN London Main Event, while PartyPoker will be doing the same for the online contingent.
PartyPoker Premier League Poker VI
Running alongside the PartyPoker.com WPT National London main event will be the eagerly anticipated Premier League Poker VI, which is sure to attract some of the biggest names in the game today.
The previous instalment of the Premier League took place in April 2012 and saw Scott Seiver crowned champion after he defeated a final table that was the home the Sam Trickett, Mathew Frankland, Tom Dwan, Tony G, Patrik Antonius, Phil Laak and Seiver’s heads-up opponent, Daniel Cates.
