Chris Moorman Reaches UKIPT Online Final Table

Chris Moorman

The PokerStars United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) usually attracts hundreds of players to live venues around the UK & Ireland, but this weekend a £770 Main Event was played online at PokerStars; and what a tournament it was.

Not only was this the first-ever UKIPT to be held online, it also had an extra twist in that the tournament was paused once the eight-handed final table was reached and this final table is going to be played live at the upcoming UKIPT Bristol leg!

By the time registration came to an end there were 587 players in their virtual seats, amongst them were some of the best players in the world. Eighty-eight places were paid out and those who made it into the money included Marc “dean23price” Wright (84th), Dylan “WhiteRabbito” Honeyman (79th), John “johne147” Eames (77th), David “davidv1213” Vamplew (76th), Ronnie “1-ronnyr3” Kaiser (74th), Simon “x1deadman1x” Deadman (47th), Sam “TheKodFather” Razavi (42nd), Chris “NigDawG” Brammer (33rd), Brian “theczar19” Piccioli (30th), Jon “apestyles” Van Fleet (25th), Nelius “danceofddead” Foley (17th) and Dominik “Bounatirou” Nitsche (10th)!

Andrew “FDSaussure” Ferguson was the unfortunate final table bubble boy, losing out to Germany’s piper_kl88 in a massive pot. The hand took place during the 7,000/14,000/1,750a level and FDSaussure was sat in the big blind and had seen zugzwang16 open to 28,000 first to act. piper_kl88 was on the button and he made the call and when Dan “danloulou” Smyth folded the small blind, FDSaussure raised to 84,111. Zugzwang16 folded but piper_kl88 moved all-in for 942,218. FDSassure called off his last 428,508 and the cards were revealed.

The {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop kept FDSaussure in front but the {A-Hearts} on the turn turned the hand completely around. The {7-Clubs} river was of no help to FDSaussure and he busted out in ninth place, extremely disappointed.

The eight players who did manage to make it through to the final table will now have to travel to Bristol on Nov. 7 to complete the tournament. Each of the final tablists have already been paid out eighth place money of £6,163.50 and when they resume the UKIPT Online final there will still be plenty to play for because the eventual champion will walk away with a total of £77,126.03! Not too bad at all by anyone’s standards!

Leading the way on that final table is zugzwang16 of Uruguay with 1,530,528, followed by piper_kl88 (1,524,837) and then Chris “Moorman1” Moorman (562,818). Also on the final table are Joep “Pappe_Ruk” Van Den Bijgaart (545,565), Seradja (490,798) of Russia, the aforementioned Dan “danloulou” Smyth (485,659), komisch99 of Germany (369,562) and Ben “gs08bjohnson” Jenkins of the UK (360,233).

UK & Ireland PokerNews are really looking forward to this final table taking place, it has all the hallmarks of a special finale that is for sure.
