Only 178 players remain in the European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event and amongst them are five players who are flying the Union Jack for all of us watching from the sidelines.
Although it was a bad day for British players in the Main Event with more than 15 of them heading for the rail before the end of play we do have the overall chip leader in Martins Adeniya and still have the chance of the first double EPT winner thanks to Toby Lewis and the possibility of another Triple Crown winner because James Dempsey is still in the frame.
Adeniya leads the entire field going into Day 3, his 512,200 stack contains 60,000 more chips than anybody else still in the running and he is a sure thing to at least make it to the money place, which begin at 128. Keeping Adeniya company are Chris Brammer (321,900), Toby Lewis (278,000), James Dempsey (274,600) and Rob Stain (206,800) and if we keep our fingers and toes crossed each of the quintet should progress to Day 4.
The only thing that is putting that in danger of not happening is the fact both Brammer and Dempsey are seated on the same table over on Table 4. Dempsey takes Seat 2 whilst Brammer is in Seat 7 and their table is unlikely to break at all today so hopefully they will stay out of each other's way.
Play resumes at 1200CET and we will see the money bubble burst. When it does go pop our heroes will have locked up €7,000 and will be one step closer to that magical €875,000 first place prize.
Good luck boys!
